Papel
Paper, 2011.
In this first exhibition, Bologna, Italy - titled “Papel”, I explored the expressive potential of paper as the sole structural element. Through origami, I developed three-dimensional compositions that engaged in a dialogue with geometry, archetypes, and the symbolism of pure forms.
Geometry has been in my DNA since childhood. I’ve always felt a deep affinity for structure, patterns, and formal precision, as if my way of seeing the world were intimately linked to order and proportion.
Paper, as a noble material, was chosen for its honesty. It allows no corrections, hides no mistakes, and responds with exactness to every gesture. Within that tension between delicacy and demand, I found a language that required focus, precision, and an almost meditative dedication.
Each fold shaped not only a figure, but an idea. The geometric became emotional, and the technical deeply symbolic. This body of work marked the beginning of a creative inquiry that would later expand into other disciplines, always guided by the same essential pursuit: to say a great deal with very little.
